Anti-Spam and Responsible Outreach Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026. LeadFOMO helps you research and organise publicly available business information. It does not send messages, and it is not licensed for building spam lists. If you choose to contact businesses using information you collected, this policy sets the minimum standard we require, in addition to the law that applies to you.
1. The short version
- Having a publicly displayed email address or phone number is not the same as consent to receive marketing.
- You must follow the anti-spam, telemarketing, and privacy rules of both your market and the recipient’s market.
- Deceptive, high-volume, or indiscriminate outreach is a violation of this policy and grounds for termination.
2. Rules we require
If you contact anyone using data organised with LeadFOMO, you must:
- comply with applicable communication laws — for example the CAN-SPAM Act (US), PECR and UK GDPR (UK), the ePrivacy rules and GDPR (EU), CASL (Canada), the Spam Act (Australia), and TRAI/TCCCPR telemarketing rules (India) — as they apply to you;
- obtain consent where the applicable law requires consent for the channel you use;
- identify yourself truthfully, never use misleading subject lines or sender details, and include your real contact information;
- honour opt-outs and unsubscribe requests promptly and keep suppression records;
- respect do-not-call and do-not-disturb registries where they apply; and
- stop contacting anyone who asks you to stop, on any channel.
3. Practices we prohibit
- Bulk, indiscriminate messaging to collected contacts without a lawful basis.
- Harassment, repeated unwanted contact, or contact aimed at private individuals rather than businesses.
- Selling or sharing contact lists built with LeadFOMO for others’ messaging campaigns.
- Using collected data for fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful communications.
4. Practical guidance
- Prefer researched, individual, relevant outreach over volume; review each record before you use it.
- Keep records of where and when data was collected, and remove records you no longer need.
- When in doubt about a market’s rules, get legal advice before contacting anyone there.
5. Enforcement and relationship to other policies
Violations of this policy are violations of the Acceptable Use Policy and can lead to suspension or termination under the Terms and Conditions. This policy does not replace the law: you remain solely responsible for your outreach, and following this policy does not by itself make outreach lawful. Suspected abuse can be reported through the contact page.
